Established on 11th January 2001, Michael Dwyer has always had an interest in justice and the law which is why, in January 1973 he initially joined the police force as a Police cadet while in Year 12 because he "got paid during my final year at school".
Michael's father who was a bank manager gave hims a DIY conveyancing kit in 1975 to assist in a family property purchase. This got him interested in all things legal.

Unlike many lawyers, Michael Dwyer has had 20 years in the Police retiring as a Detective Sergeant in Queensland so understands how law enforcement works and operates in Queensland and New South Wales.
Having been in the Police Force since the age of 15, he moved from being a Police Officer to an Officer of the court. Both ensure that Justice is seen to be done.
After resigning from the police force he studied commercial law, management, real estate and IT.
Michael graduated in Law and was admitted to practice law in Sydney on 19th April 1996 and in Brisbane on the 2th May 1996.
He has 20+ years experience as a criminal defence lawyer in Queensland and New South Wales.
Most cases come by referrals from other clients and lawyers.
Michael has a unique perspective of being able to think like a police officer, understanding their processes and procedures. This helps as he looks for angles to create arguments to defend clients for removing or reducing penalties.
